Suki Waterhouse Shares Rare Comments About ‘Disaster’ Relationship with Ex Bradley Cooper
Suki Waterhouse is reflecting on what she learned from relationship with ex-boyfriend Bradley Cooper.
In a new interview with the Sunday Times published on Sunday (November 1), the 34-year-old “Good Looking” singer spoke about her relationship with fiancé Robert Pattinson, whom she has been with for nearly a decade.
Suki admitted that the longevity of her connection with the 40-year-old Twilight actor “surprised” her because her last relationship didn’t last.
“Before I had only ever gone out with someone for two years, and if it was two years, it would have been a disaster at the end,” Suki said.
Without naming him, Suki was referring to her past relationship with Bradley, 51, whom she dated from 2013 to 2015.
“When something very public happens to you and the story behind it is dark and difficult, and you’re actually not doing well, and you can’t explain yourself to the world, that’s very isolating and disorientating,” Suki explained. “It probably has taken a decade to work myself out and actually be able to have this expansion in my life.”
She also said that the love she experienced in her 20s was “only ever a fetishization.”
“When you get into your 30s you’re almost instantly afforded a little bit more respect, she continued. “It’s kind of delightful and shocking at the same time.”
The Daisy Jones & The Six actress noted that she has no regrets.
“I wouldn’t take anything back. All these chaotic ways that my life went, it was always material,” Suki said, adding that the past “led me to a love that is really pure.”
Also in the interview, Suki spoke about wedding planning with Rob.
