‘The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping’ Movie Is Getting a 3D Release & a Meta VR Version

The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping is getting a special release in early 2027!

The highly-anticipated new movie in the popular franchise will be released in theaters this November, but following that, Lionsgate is teaming up with Meta to bring the film back to theaters in 3D, according to TheWrap.

This upcoming collaboration will be a first for the tech company as they convert the Hollywood feature into 3D and plan for it to be available in 3D on Meta VR Glasses.

Meta VR Glasses will allow viewers to watch the film with 5K Infinite Display, Dolby Atmos spatial audio, and Dolby Vision.

“From the beginning, we wanted ‘The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping’ to feel visceral and immersive, pulling audiences deep into Haymitch’s experience,” director Francis Lawrence said in a Monday statement. “Adapting the film for 3D gave us another creative tool to bring audiences even closer to his perspective. I’m excited for people to see the film on the big screen and ultimately experience it in an entirely new way on Meta’s VR glasses.”
