Pacific leaders urged motion on local weather change as UN pre-COP talks opened in Fiji’s Nadi on Monday, forward of subsequent month’s COP31 summit in Turkey. Discussions in Fiji and Tuvalu will deal with limiting warming to 1.5C, bettering entry to local weather finance and defending oceans as rising seas threaten communities.
