Greenvolt begins constructing 600 MW/2.4 GWh BESS in Poland


Greenvolt Power has began development of a 600 MW/2.4 GWh BESS in Siedlce, Poland. It stated it expects to start business operations by the tip of 2027.

BYD Energy Storage will provide the battery expertise. The undertaking will use 210 battery containers and 105 transformer containers geared up with energy conversion methods to switch electrical energy between the batteries and the grid.

P&Q will join the BESS to the transmission community operated by Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne (PSE) at 400 kV. The connection works embrace a brand new 400/110 kV substation and 400 kV and 110 kV cable hyperlinks.

The facility will cost during times of excessive renewable era and discharge when electrical energy demand rises. Greenvolt expects the undertaking to enhance system flexibility, assist the mixing of wind and solar energy, and assist stability provide and demand.

Once Siedlce, Turośń Kościelna and Ełk are working, Greenvolt could have 1 GW of battery energy capability and 4 GWh of storage capability in Poland.

The portfolio will give the corporate a bigger position in offering flexibility as Poland expands variable renewable era.
