Berlin Airport briefly suspends flights over drone sighting

Berlin’s airport briefly suspended flights on Wednesday night after a drone sighting, Germany’s DPA information company cited airport and police officers as saying.

A drone was noticed on the Berlin Brandenburg Airport’s northern runway at 8:00 p.m. (1800 GMT). Airspace above the airport was closed minutes later and operations had been suspended for not less than 45 minutes.

Several flights had been diverted to Dresden.

As of 9:05 p.m., airspace was reopened however flights had been experiencing delays.
