Senior Kazakh officers detained after 14 service members swept out to sea

Five senior navy officers have been detained in Kazakhstan following the loss of life of 14 service members who have been collaborating in navy workouts.

Those who died have been amongst a complete of 17 who have been swept into the Caspian Sea as they have been disembarking from a ship on Thursday. Officials say the incident occurred “throughout a fight coaching mission on account of a pointy deterioration in meteorological situations and rising winds”.

Three have been rescued.

Those detained embrace the chief of employees and first deputy commander of Kazakhstan’s Naval Forces, two navy unit commanders, and the commanders of a marine firm and a ship. They are suspected of legal negligence.
