Bono Reveals What Ed Sheeran Told Him About Politics When They Collaborated on ‘Yours Eternally’

Bono is sharing some insider data on the U2 and Ed Sheeran collaboration “Yours Eternally.”

In a brand new interview, the U2 frontman was requested about what went down with Ed and Macklemore.

If you didn’t see the information, final month, Ed eliminated his former opening act Macklemore from the remaining exhibits on his tour amid backlash to the pro-Palestine feedback he made on stage at two New Jersey concert events. All of Ed‘s opening acts and his backing band then dropped out.

“I’d say with Ed and Macklemore that we shouldn’t personalize this, what’s occurring. [U2 collaborator] Brian Eno mentioned as we speak that pop stars are like little fish in a big sea of giant forces and faith and politics. And so I don’t need to dwell on Ed and Macklemore and that incident,” Bono instructed Rolling Stone UK.

“I’ll say this. When we did ‘Yours Eternally’, he was saying, ‘You’re not going to get me into politics, are you?’” Bono recalled. “And I mentioned, ‘This soldier who impressed us, he beloved you Ed and also you’ve labored on this tune.’”

Apparently Ed mentioned in response, in response to Bono, “Yeah, however I simply need to preserve my factor free.” Bono added, “You can’t be pushing individuals round.”
