Advisor moves: Raymond James and LPL add veteran teams in Ohio and Pennsylvania

A four-advisor group from UBS joins Raymond James in Beachwood while a 36-year Cetera veteran moves his $390 million practice to LPL.
Among the advisor moves announced this week, Raymond James has landed a seasoned four-person team from UBS Financial Services in Ohio while LPL Financial has welcomed a multigenerational Pennsylvania practice from Cetera.
Raymond James lands $700M UBS team in Beachwood, Ohio
Raymond James & Associates (RJA), the firm’s employee advisor channel, welcomed financial advisors Thomas Massey, CPM, Michelle Herman, ChFC, CDFA, Joseph Licate and John Egan, along with Senior Registered Client Service Associate Lyndsey Fern, to its Beachwood, Ohio office.
The team, operating as 42° North Advisors of Raymond James, arrived from UBS Financial Services, where they collectively managed more than $700 million in client assets. The move was confirmed by Amy Smart, Mid-American regional director for RJA.
The group brings more than 130 combined years of wealth management experience.
Massey, senior vice president of wealth management, began his career in financial services in 1987 and spent 18 years at UBS. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Northwestern University, completed the Investment Consultant Program at the Wharton School of Business, and earned the Certified Portfolio Manager designation from Columbia University, where he served as a guest lecturer for more than five years.
Herman, first vice president of wealth management, brings 24 years of experience and holds the Chartered Financial Consultant and Certified Divorce Financial Analyst designations, having joined after four years at her previous firm.
Licate, senior vice president of wealth management, contributes more than four decades in the industry, with advanced coursework through The American College of Financial Services and the Wharton School of Business. Egan, vice president of wealth management, brings 46 years of experience focused on preserving and building long-term wealth for individuals and families.
Together the team serves families, individuals, business owners, corporate executives, family offices and retirees through customized financial planning, investment management and wealth management guidance.
Culture and leadership stability were the deciding factors in the team’s decision to move. “Raymond James stands out for its reputation and longstanding stability,” Massey said. “Its strong leadership team and client-first values give us confidence that we’ll have the support and resources needed to serve our clients well into the future.”
Smart welcomed the addition in similar terms. “At Raymond James, they gain the freedom, resources and dedicated support to shape their practice around their clients’ evolving needs while continuing to grow on their own terms,” she said.
The Ohio hire extends a consistent run of Raymond James & Associates recruiting from UBS throughout 2026, as advisors at the wirehouse continue to respond to changes in how the firm compensates its advisor workforce.
LPL welcomes $390M Cetera practice in Pennsylvania
LPL Financial LLC announced that Joe Borgese, CFP, of Contour Wealth Management, LLC has joined LPL’s broker-dealer and registered investment advisor platforms, reporting approximately $390 million in assets.
Borgese joins from Cetera and is based in Boyertown, Pennsylvania, outside Philadelphia. He began his financial services career in 1990, first in banking before moving to the corporate side of the industry.
Contour’s long-tenured team includes Lindsey Borgese, CFP, who helps manage the office, Diana C. Dugan, Enrolled Agent, along with administrative staff Brian Christman, Cheryl Dietz and Karen Walla.
Technology, operational efficiency and the potential to deliver better value to clients drove the decision to move. “The biggest consideration for me was what this move could mean for our clients,” Borgese said. “LPL’s combination of technology, operational support and the team-based approach to supporting advisors gives us an opportunity to work more efficiently.” He also cited cost efficiencies for clients as an important factor in leaving Cetera for LPL.
Marc Cohen, chief growth officer at LPL Financial, described the practice as built around continuity and relationships that extend across generations. “Joe and his team understand that every family’s path is different, and they have created an experience designed to evolve alongside clients through each stage of life,” Cohen said.
The Contour Wealth Management move is the latest in a sustained pattern of Cetera advisors finding their way to LPL. LPL has consistently recruited advisor teams from Cetera throughout 2026, as competition between the two independent broker-dealer giants for established practices shows no sign of easing.
As InvestmentNews has reported, recruiting costs at both firms have climbed to record levels in recent years as each competes aggressively for experienced, productive practices.
