9 killed after bus catches hearth close to Delhi

Nine passengers have been killed late on Wednesday after an in a single day sleeper bus caught hearth outdoors of the national capital, New Delhi, in response to media stories.

A police report, cited by the media, mentioned the bus’ air-con unit brought on the hearth whereas on the Yamuna Expressway in Greater Noida.

Police added that the bus driver and conductor managed to flee the hearth and are have absconded.

A passenger who managed to flee the tragedy instructed ANI information company that the bus was filled with passengers.

“I used to be sleeping when somebody woke me up saying the bus had caught hearth, and all of us scrambled to get out,” the passenger mentioned. “It was not a simple scenario to flee, there was quite a lot of smoke. We in some way managed to get out.”

The police are investigating the incident.
