‘Safety incident’ at Northampton throughout Cardiff sport believed to be a hoax

A ‘safety incident’ throughout Northampton’s Champions Cup win over Cardiff on Sunday is believed to have been a hoax.
Police have been referred to as to the Saints’ Franklin’s Gardens stadium at about 19:00 BST “following threats made on social media”.
The sport had kicked off at 17:30 and gamers from each side left the sector straight after the ultimate whistle as a “precautionary measure”.
“Enquiries into the incident stay ongoing and we’re working intently with each the Saints and our policing companions on the investigation,” stated a Northamptonshire Police spokeswoman.
Northampton, who received the Champions Cup match 28-12, stated they have been “sorry that supporters did not get the chance to see the gamers after the ultimate whistle”.
They added: “Following a safety incident on the stadium, each side left the sector instantly as a precautionary measure.
“Thank you to your understanding and cooperation.
“The security of our supporters, gamers, employees and officers will at all times stay our high precedence.”
