World Championship Triathlon Series: Georgia Taylor-Brown finishes runner-up to Cassandre Beaugrand to

Great Britain’s Beth Potter claimed silver on the World Championship Triathlon Series behind Olympic champion Cassandre Beaugrand of France.

The last occasion of the sequence came about in Pontevedra, Spain, the place Potter wanted a win to overtake Beaugrand within the total standings.

But she completed fourth, with team-mates Georgia Taylor-Brown and Kate Waugh ending second and third behind Beaugrand.

Beaugrand gained comfortably, finishing the 1.5km swim, 40km bike journey and 10km run in a single hour 50 minutes 52 seconds, which was over a minute faster than Taylor-Brown.

Potter, who gained the World Series at Pontevedra in 2023, remained in competition on the finish of the cycle, however Beaugrand stretched away from the three Brits within the second lap of the run and held agency.

It concludes a dominant season for Beaugrand, who has gained all 5 of the World Championship circuit races she entered.

Taylor-Brown won the Czech Republic leg of the sequence earlier this month, which was her first win on the tour since 2023.
