London Fashion Week 2026: The 5 developments we’ll see in spring

This London Fashion Week has been about return and renewal – as two of Britain’s largest designers showcased their spring/summer season 2027 designs.

The first was Alexander McQueen, which as a model moved to London after 25 years of exhibiting in Paris – one thing Laura Weir, CEO of the British Fashion Council, instructed the BBC was “fairly an enormous deal for us”.

Creative director Seán McGirr introduced the model again to its roots, with a runway of satan horns, lace corsets and chainmail cranium attire.

Mulberry was the second designer to make its large return, this time after a nine-year absence, with Christopher Kane’s debut assortment centring across the model’s Baywater bag, whereas going large on leather-based within the type of coats, skirts and loafers.

Weir says the “large mission” for her and her group this season was to “re-platform London Fashion Week as not solely a house for British design, however an engine for creativity and business progress”.
